Eestablished in the year 1957, Govt Brennen College of Teacher Education, Thalassery became one of the leading institutions providing state-of-the-art knowledge tn the field of Education.In September 2008 the college is renamed as Govt Brennen College of Teacher Education(GBCTE)In November 2008 the college has been elevated to the status of a Research Center in Education, the first of its kind at government sector in Kannur University.The college is presently running B.Ed Courses in Four languages (Arabic, English, Hindi, and Malayalam) and four subjects (Natural Science, Mathematics, Physical Science, and Social Science)with a total strength of 120 students.

Admission Details
Applications for B Ed entrance test are invited by the Entrance Commissioner through Gazette
Admission to the course is based on the candidate’s marks in the qualifying examination and marks scored in the entrance examination. A state level test is conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examination.
