Vaidyaratnam Ayurveda College was founded by the late Ashtavaidyan E.T. Neelakandan Mooss on 2nd October 1976 and is under the management of Vaidyaratnam Ayurvedic Educational Society. The College is affiliated to the Kerala University of Health Sciences and offers B.A.M.S. degree (Ayurveda acharya). The course is recognized by the Central Council of Indian Medicines (CCIM) and is of a duration of 5½ years. The sprawling campus accommodates administrative and academic blocks, hospitals, auditorium, herbal garden, hostels for men and women and facilities for sports and games. The College is equipped with 14 departments as per the CCIM norms including the newly formed Panchakarma department. 41 teaching faculties including 2 for Sanskrit make the departments function with eminent potential. Out of these faculties, 6 are Ph.D holders, 31 are MD holders and others are undergoing Post Graduate studies. There is a central Library attached to the College having an exhaustive collection of more than 10830 books including some of the rarest books in Ayurveda. The Library is in the process of digitization. The Library has also attached broadband internet facilities for the use of students and teaching faculties. Space is provided for the review of current National and International Journals.

Vaidyaratnam Ayurveda College Admission Details
- Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala or the examination recognized equivalent thereto with 50% marks in Biology separately and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together, are eligible.
- The admission to the 50 seats of BAMS course is based on the rank list published by the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations(CEE), Kerala. Among the total seats 50% are filled through the centralized allotment of CEE and the rest under management quota.
