University of Kerala in Thiruvananthapuram

University of Kerala formerly known as University of Travancore was established in 1937 and is located in Trivandrum , Kerala India. It is an affiliating university and presently has sixteen faculties and forty one departments of teaching and research in addition to study centers and other departments. Teaching, Research and Knowledge extension are the mandate of the Departments. The Institute of Distance Education offers a number of under-graduate and post graduate program-mes which cater to more than 7000 students, all over the country and abroad.

The International Journal of Kerala Studies is also similarly an established Journal.

• Kerala University Library-The Kerala University Library (KUL), established in 1942, is the oldest and biggest university library in Kerala and is situated adjacent to the University Senate Hall campus in the Thiruvananthapuram city. It stocks over 3,50,000 books (growing at 5000 titles annually) and subscribes to nearly 500 journals/ periodicals/ magazines. It also offers digital information services such as UGC Infonet. Library is open 8 AM to 8 PM on all working days and 2 PM to 8 PM on Sundays
