Toc H Public School in Kochi

Toc H Public School was established on 1978 in Kochi, Kerala, India. The school is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi.Toc H Public School is owned and managed by the Toc H Public School Society, Kochi. The School follows 10 + 2 pattern of education and is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi . The classes are scheduled from 8-30 AM to 3-10 PM. The School conducts three midterm and three term-end examinations. The primary school follows the comprehensive and continuous assessment systems. After every term-end examination, the students are given special guidance and coaching.The School is located in a sprawling 7-acre campus at Vyttila in the heart of Kochi .

School Curriculum

Nursery – The kindergarten school focuses on developing language, numerical and motor skills.

Primary School – This consists of classes Standard I to V. The syllabus followed is as per CBSE scheme. Activity-driven teaching strategies go hand in hand with chalk-and-talk methods. Periodical oral and written evaluations and assessments are conducted. Promotions are based on CCA (Comprehensive Continuous Assessment). Two sessions per week are assigned for sports and games. Inputs in arts and craft, and music and drama are also imparted.

Secondary School – Secondary School consists of classes Standard VI to X. Evaluation is conducted quarterly, including in graded subjects. Promotions are based on CCA as in the primary section. At the end of Standard X, students enroll for the Board examinations (AISSE). Special teachers are available to train the students in Music, Dance, Karate, Aerobics and Yoga.

Higher Secondary – After passing the AISSE (X grade), students join the Higher Secondary section. At this point, they choose their stream of specialization in following combinations –

Admission Details

Admissions are held in the month of October every year for the nursery section, for which applications are received in the first week of October. This is followed by an interaction with the parents. Weightages are given for the neighbourhood factor, for having siblings already in the school, and for the girl-child.

• Children who attain the age of three years by 31st December are eligible for admission to LKG.
• Admissions to UKG are entertained in the month of April, only if vacancies are available and the entrant should be due to complete 4-1/2 years by June.
• For admissions to Standard I, preference is given to applicants from the School’s nursery section. For the outsiders, an entrance test is conducted.
• For admission to Standard XI, the marks scored in Standard X are considered. For the classes in between in the primary and secondary sections, lateral entry is permitted only if vacancies are available. The School announces the vacancy position in early April, and admissions are completed by mid-April on the basis of entrance examinations.
