Newman College is an institution of higher education, established, owned and administered by the diocese of Kothamangalam.The college was inaugurated on 10th July 1964 by His Excellency Rt. Rev. Dr. Mathew Pothanamuzhy, the Patron and Proprietor.400 students were admitted in 1964 to the first year of the Pre-Degree Course. The College started functioning in the present campus on 15th December 1964.Newman College is the leading college in the Idukki District, with 5 post graduate courses imparting higher education for over 100 students of this backward district.
