Adi Shankara Institute of Engineering & Technology was inaugurated on August 31st 2001 by then Chief Minister of Kerala Sree A. K. Antony. It started 4 branches of engineering Electronics Communication, Computer Science, Information Technology Electrical Electronics with 180 students as the first batch. Affiliated to M.G. University, Kottayam and approved by AICTE, ASIET is the first self – financing technical education centre to be awarded the ISO 9001 : 2008 certification.Adi Shankara Institute of Engineering & Technology was established at Kalady with the aim of providing value added technical education with a flair of professional excellence and ethical values.

• Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala, or Examinations recognized as equivalent thereto, with 50 % marks in Mathematics separately, and 50 % marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry/Bio-technology/Computer Science /Biology put together are eligible for admission. Allotment to 85% seats of the annual intake is made by Commissioner for Entrance examination (CEE), Government of Kerala from the rank list of Kerala Engineering Entrance examination conducted every year by Govt. of Kerala.
• For MBA Bachelor’s degree with not less than 50% aggregate marks for Arts/Commerce/Science/Engineering and Valid MAT Score/Equivalent
