Travancore Engineering College in Kollam

Travancore Engineering College was established in 2002 by Travancore Education Society, Kallambalam. The society was registered in 2001 under Charitable Societies Act of Travancore-Cochin 1955, by a group of visionaries and educationists with the intention of educational uplift of weaker sections.The College started functioning in its permanent building on 21st October, 2002 under the able leadership of Dr. N. Kesavan Nair as the Principal.During the years 2005 & 2008, the AICTE, after assessing the progress of the Institution, granted permission to start two additional B.Tech courses in Mechanical & Civil Engineering with an intake of 60 students each and in 2010 the College got approval for B.Tech in Applied Electronics and Instrumentation. Today, the College has well equipped laboratories and workshops, qualified and experienced faculty members, a well stocked library, a fleet of vehicles, hostels and all other necessary facilities. All the courses are affiliated to University of Kerala. Travancore Engineering College is located in Roadvila, near Oyoor in Kollam District. The College is about 7km. away from MC road( Ayoor) and 16km. from NH 47 (Ithikkara). The nearest Railway station is Kollam, at a distance of 30km.

Travancore Engineering College Admission Details

• Candidates for admission to the B.Tech. degree course shall be required to have passed the Higher Secondary Examination Kerala or 12 Standard V.H.S.E. C.B.S.E. I.C.S.E. or any examination accepted by the University as equivalent thereto with Mathematics Physics and Chemistry as optional or a Diploma in Engineering awarded by the Board of Technical Education Kerala or an examination recognized as equivalent.
• The minimum qualification for M.Tech is a pass in B.Tech Degree of the University of Kerala or an equivalent degree of any other University recognized by the University of Kerala
