aja Ravi Varma College of Fine Arts , Mavelikara named after the renowned artist Raja Ravi Varma is a government institution affiliated to the University of Kerala. This college offers Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) four year degree course in three branches of Fine Arts, namely Painting, Sculpture and Applied Arts. The Government of Kerala started the Institution as Ravi Varma School of Painting under the Department of Education till 1974. It was a Five years Diploma course in Fine Arts. Later in the year 1987 the Government decided to upgrade the institution as Ravi Varma Institute of Fine Arts and offered five years National Diploma Course in Painting, Sculpture and Applied Art. In the year 2000 this institution was upgraded as College of Fine Arts and named as ‘Raja Ravi Varma College of Fine Arts’ and affiliated to the University of Kerala

Raja Ravi Varma College of Fine Arts Admission
- Candidate who have passed in the plus 2 examination or equivalent qualifications are eligible for admission to the first year BFA degree course provided they have passed an aptitude test conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education.
- Maximum 40 students may be admitted annually subject to the aptitude assessed in the aptitude test. The first year of BFA degree course shall be a foundation course to the BFA specialization. After they passed first year University examinations, they may be get admitted to the three specializations, Painting, Sculpture and Applied Arts, according to their talent and choice.
