The foundation stone of the T.K.M College of Engineering was laid in the year 1956 by Dr. Rajendra Prasad, The first President of Independent India.T.K.M College of Engineering, is situated in the historic coastal city of Kollam. In the beginning the college offered courses in Civil, Mechanical and Electrical branches of Engineering. Since then it made rapid strides, and has grown into one of the major technical institutions in India offering courses in seven branches of Engineering, and in Architecture at graduation level. The college also offers part-time degree courses in Civil, Mechanical and Electrical and Electronics Engineering. It offers post graduate degree courses, M.C.A, M.Tech (Civil), and M.Tech (Mechanical) and a part-time M.B.A program. The college is an Approved Research Center for Mechanical and Civil Engineering.The college is affiliated to Kerala University, approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE ), New Delhi and aided by Government of Kerala.

Admission Details
Admission to the Under Graduate programmes will be based on entrance examination conducted by the commissioner of entrance examinations, Govt of Kerala. Candidate will have to fulfill the basic requirements of admission, as sidelined by the University regulations and the Institute.
