MES College of Engineering in Malappuram

The Architecture course was started in the MES College of Engineering from the academic year 1999-2000 with an aim to meet the demand of architects globally.The department is known as MES School of Architecture. This is an institution approved by the Council of Architecture, Constituted under Architect’s act 1972. It is also recognized by the AICTE and Government of Kerala. The course is affiliated to the Calicut University. The present intake for the B.Arch course is 40.

• B.Arch– It is a multi disciplinary course .During the five years of B.Arch degree course the students attain the knowledge and skills required to practice as architects .They are taught history of art and architecture, Design , drafting ,structural design ,building services , building construction ,sociology, art, computer applications in architecture etc.

Admission Details

Students are admitted to Architecture course based on the norms fixed by the Council of Architecture/ Govt. of Kerala/ University of Calicut/Management from time to time. At present selection is based on the score obtained by the candidate in the National Aptitude test(NATA) conducted by the Council of Architecture and the marks obtained by the candidate in the qualifying examination ,giving equal weightage for both. Minimum marks required for the NATA examination is 40% for general categories, 5% concession is permissible for eligible communities. Minimum aggregate marks required for plus two or equivalent qualifying examination with mathematics and English as compulsory subjects is 50%. Candidates seeking admission under Government quota shall separately apply in the prescribed format to commissioner for entrance examinations at the time of inviting application for B.Tech/ B.Arch course.

NATA test is conducted by the Council of Architecture at various centres.MES School of architecture has been an approved centre since the inception of the NATA.
