Mar Athanasius College of Engineering was established in 1961 in Kerala and It is approved by the AICTE and also accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). The College is affiliated to the Mahatma Gandhi University. It is located in Kothamangalam, Ernakulam, Kerala state, India. It is one of the Best premier Engineering Colleges in Kerala state. The College campus set a top a hillock that provides a beautiful preview of Kothamangalam town known as the Gateway to the High Ranges. Technical fest is held every year which is attended by many Colleges in vicinity. In 2012 technical fest, workshop on Automotive Engineering & Latest Technologies was conducted by ParaMek Technologies in association with MACE which was attended by students from different colleges.

- Central Library: The library is open on all working days except Sundays and General holidays. The library is connected by LAN of campus and the Internet.
Monday -Friday 8.30 am-5.30 pm
Saturdays -10.00 am- 3.30 pm - Central Computing Facility: T he latest generation systems is available in computer labs and various Department labs. A reference library is also available inside the lab. It also provides many others facilities like-
- Hostels:It has separate hostels for both boys and girls. There are four boys hostels and two girls hostels.
- Auditoriums: The auditorium is located in the main block. It has a capacity of 500 audiences in a floor area of 400m2. Important functions and meetings of students are held on here. It also provides many facilities like
- Sports Facilities: It has a football, cricket ground, two valley ball courts, two tennis courts, a basketball court, and three badminton courts. The total area of play grounds is 20090m2. The multipurpose indoor stadium is also available with floor area of 3500 sq.m. All these playgrounds have been the venue for many intercollegiate, University wise and State wise tournaments. Recently, a national University wise volleyball tournament was also held here.
- Fitness Center: A well maintained and well equipped Fitness Central is available for physical training is provided for students and staff. All types of equipments like everybody muscles, including a four station Multi Gym is installed. A trainer is also available for proper training, guidance and development of physical fitness. A Floor Area is around 105m2.
- Canteen: All types of Indian dishes are available in canteen. The floor area of canteen is 250 m2. Kitchen is provided with sufficient number of LPG stoves. A Bio-gas Plant and its burners developed by students of the college is also provided.
- General Store: All stationery, engineering instruments and books needed for students and staffs are available in the store.
- Post Office: Facilities like Registration, M.O., telephone etc, are available.
- Medical Facilities: Any treatment for staff and students will be done without prepayment.
- Electric Power Supply: Institute has its own sub-station of 250KVA Capacity that connect directly from Kerala State Electricity Board sub-station and also backed up stand by Generators
- Water Availability: The Institute maintains its own well for potable water.
- Telephone booth: Two telephone booths are available in the campus.
- Roads: All the buildings in the campus are well connected by bituminous road.
- Environment: A variety of flower plants and trees with lot of delectable and juicy fruits bring the college campus closed to nature.
- Vehicle Parking area: Parking area is provided in porches as well as in open air.

B-Tech and M-Tech : Mode of admission
Candidates for admission to the B-Tech, Degree course shall be required to have passed the higher secondary/+2/XII Std. An examination conducted by boards/departments recognized/accepted by the University, obtaining not less than 50% marks in Mathematics and not less than 50% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together or the diploma examination in Engineering, Kerala .

MCA: Mode of admission
The minimum qualification for admission is B.Sc. Comp. Sc, BCA or B.Sc or B.Com degree with Mathematics or Statistics as one of the subjects with not less than 55% marks, excluding languages, in the qualifying examination.-Candidates with B.Sc. Comp Sc, BCA, B.Sc/ B.Com degree of the Mahatma Gandhi University or any other degree, accepted as equivalent there to by the Mahatma Gandhi University are alone eligible to apply.
