A.W.H. College of Education Calicut is one of the many Educational institution in Malabar Area run by A.W.H.(Association for the Welfare of the Handicapped.) a society in the charitable field, registered under Societies Act as per Reg.No.26 of 1975.A.W.H. College of Education was established in 1996 and started functioning during the academic year 2005-2006.The college is recognized by the NCTE and RCI, New Delhi, one year duration, approved by the Govt. of Kerala and affiliated to the University of Calicut.There are 30 Educational Institutions under its management.The college objective at producing socially inclined, morally and ethically upright, professionally skilled and dedicated educators of tomorrow.

  • Infrastructure facilities:u Newly developed five building with separate Principals room, Faculty room, Office room, Toilets, Store room, Multipurpose room, Seminar Hall, Class rooms for each optionals /batch, Edusat enabled smart room, Labs,Library for B.Ed, M.Ed and T.T.C. courses and separate class rooms, Roomsfor Professor, Reader and Lectures for M.Ed course.
  • Library: Spacious Library with equipped with Photostat Machine,Computer,7348 books, with 20 Journels,6 Magazines, 27 encyclopedia,159 audio visual C.D’s etc

  • Laboratories: There are many labs in college like Educational Technology Lab.,Language & Micro Teaching Lab, Psychology Lab,Computer Lab with 16 computers & internet facility,Physical Education,SUPW Lab,Subject Lab etc.

Admission Procedure:

B.Ed (General)

  • 50% of the seats in each optional subjects are filled by the Govt. on a centralized, state level entrance exam/on merit basis and the rest by management and that too on merit basis from among the applicants for management quota.
  • aggregate of 50% marks for part I +II+ III for qualifying degree and for B.Ed commerce optional 50% marks for M.Com for general category with relaxation to SC/ST/OEC and OBC candidates.

M.Ed:

  • 50% of the seats are filled by the university on merit by selection based on entrance test, and admission to the balance 50% seats under management quota is made by the management on merit basis.
  • 55% mark for B.Ed with relaxation for SC/ST/OEC and OBC candidates

Trained Teachers Certificate Course (T.T.C) :

  • 50% is merit Quota and 50% in management quota. Candidate with at least 50% marks in the senior secondary examination(+2) or its equivalent are eligible for admission.
  • There is reservation of seats for SC/ST/OBC students

B.Ed Special Education (Hearing Impaired) :

  • 45% marks for part III for arts subjects and 50% marks for the Science subjects
  • Applicants should have secured 45% marks in aggregate (Part I+II+III) with relaxation for SC/ST/OEC and OBC candidates.
  • Selection to 50% of the seats is done by the University of Calicut on merit basis from the candidates who apply for the same direct to the University in response to their notification. Admission to the balance 50% seats under management quota is made by the management.

The college is situated in Cheruvannur about half-a-kilometer away from Feroke Railway Station and in the western side of BSNL office.in Beypore Road (BC Road) with chaliyar river in the southern side of the land and near (about300 Meters) the western side of old bridge road and 250 Meter away from the Railway Feroke.
