The School of Industrial Fisheries was established in 1976 as the Department of Industrial Fisheries under the erstwhile University of Cochin for postgraduate teaching and research on all aspects of Fisheries Science and Technology. The School offers M.Sc. Degree in Industrial Fisheries and Ph.D. Programme in Fisheries-related disciplines like aquaculture, fishery biology, fishing craft and gear technology, fish-processing technology, fishery economics and fisheries management.

For Msc
Bachelor’s Degree in Fisheries / Zoology/ Botany with at least 55% marks in the optional subjects. Bachelor’s Degree in Fisheries includes Indus- trial Fisheries/ Aqua-culture/Fishery Science/Industrial Fish and Fisheries/B.FSc(Nautical Sci- ence) .
For Ph.D
Graduate in Chemistry with Physics and Mathematics as subsidiaries or graduate in Engg. (Civil/Public Health/Environmental or Chemical) with 55% marks. Graduates in Life Sciences/Environmental Sciences/ Regular- day 6 Zoology/Botany/Microbiology with 55% marks.
