Bhavan's Adarsha Vidyalaya is one of the six schools of the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kochi Kendra which was inaugurated on 2 July 1989 by His Highness Marthanda Varma Illaya Raja of Travancore. The school is affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education.Medium of instruction is English. Hindi is compulsory upto Std VIII. Malayalam or Sanskrit will be third language from Std. II to Std. VIII. Malayalam, Hindi or Sanskrit can be opted as second language from Std.IX.
Bhavan’s Adarsha Vidyalaya conducts classes from Kindergarten to Post-Graduate research and imparts education in subjects ranging from Carnatic Music to Computers, from Sanskrit to Business Management and from Yoga to Journalism. The school is located at Kakkanad about 1.5 km from the Civil Station, easily accessible from Kochi. It’s a sprawling, verdant 10 acre campus with 9 buildings comprising separate hostels for boys and girls, auditorium and kindergarten.
